Head of Logistics 

Responsibilities:

1. Procurement, storage, and distribution from Wakiso/ Kampala to the 2 regions of all agricultural inputs that we sell in our nine Agro Support Centers 
2. Fleet management and facility management
3. Maintain relations with existing suppliers, critically follow market developments (identify new products and new suppliers, monitor prices), assure that we get the best value for money without compromising quality or delivery time and monitor the national guidelines for agro input dealers
4. Supervise and support the two regional logistics officers and the different logistics assistants in their tasks of:
   1. Storage (regional store and ASC stores) and distribution of inputs
   2. Management of local fleet
   3. Management of local facilities
   4. Local procurements (if needed)
5. Ensure that logistics’ procedures and related administrative systems are in place, improved and updated when necessary and implemented
6. Provide regularly requested analysis of data to management (inventory, throughput, cost, use of motorbikes and cars, etc.)

Duty station:                   Wakiso office (Kayunga off Hoima Road near Wakiso TC), with regular travels to Arua in West Nile and Pajule in Northern Uganda

Reports to    director

Number direct reports: 3 - two regional logistics officers and a logistics officer at Wakiso office. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor in procurement or related area
• Working experience of minimum 3 years in a leading logistical position
• Willingness to travel upcountry, where necessary using public means
• Driving permit class, A and B is an added advantage
• Commercial thinker, team worker and if needed hands-on
