Job Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This Bujagali Energy Limited position is accountable for providing training relating to the operation and maintenance of the Bujagali hydroelectric power plant. The work includes the responsibilities listed below. The position is a 3-year facilitated position. The position is based at the hydro power plant near Jinja, the Republic of Uganda.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Specific responsibilities and duties include:
1. Participate in all training programs of the company.
2. Carry out electrical inspection, preventive maintenance.
3. Execute electrical works for Bujagali Energy Limited.
4. Design, plan and organise resources (labour and materials) for electrical works.
5. Manage and supervise electrical casual workers, preparing of work schedules and payment timesheets.
6. Follow safety procedures and ensure safety of self and team mates at all times.
7. Prepare necessary documents prior to works including permits to work and related safety documents, relevant procedures and work instructions.
8. Plan, schedule and conduct educational tours within the plant as situation demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Administratively reports to the Technical Manager.
.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Personal protective equipment must be worn while visiting certain locations of the power plant (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, life jackets and safety shoes, etc.) and at all times while carrying out maintenance works.
2. Requires occasional extended working hours or working over a weekend.
