JOB OPPORTUNITY AT STEADFIN UGANDA SACCO

BACK GROUND

SteadFin Uganda SACCO Ltd is a registered Savings and Credit Co-operative Organisation (STEADFIN) with over 700 active members who are largely staff, retirees, and affiliates of the U.S. Mission agencies in Uganda, their spouses, staff of SteadFin SACCO and associate members who are children of members. The SACCO’s prime objective is to mobilize and invest members’ savings through the provision of different loan and investment products to its members, and the investment of members’ savings in SACCO profitable business ventures.

STEADFIN hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidate(s) to fill the following vacant positions:

Job Title: FINANCIAL ADVISOR 

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Reporting to: Head of Operations

PURPOSE

The Financial Advisor will be responsible for analyzing credit data and financial statements of members to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money as well as preparation of relevant reports for use in informing decision -making.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Appraisal of loan application for approval and advising members appropriately.
  2. Advising members on the status of their loan applications.
  3. Implementing the loans guarantor system and ensuring adequate collateral cover for the respective loan products with a goal of managing credit risk.
  4. Following up with members for timely payment of outstanding and due loan recoveries in line with the Credit guidelines.
  5. Tracking and ensuring that all lending across all products is within the approved credit limit exposures.
  6. Arranging and conducting meetings with members to ensure members have good knowledge of the products and services available and are to make informed decisions.
  7. Generating timely period loans, savings and other product reposts.
  8. Ensuring member credit status is updated and the relevant documents are kept.
  9. Contribute to the business growth of SACCO products including investment initiatives aimed at revenue growth.
  10. Monitoring and following up borrowers in the SACCO with a goal of ensuring their financial independence.
  11. Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Operations and or Chief Executive Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Commerce, Microfinance, Marketing, Social Sciences, and Communication or related field.
  2. The applicant should have a minimum of one years’ experience in the related field of work preferably in a financial institution
