Job Description

We are searching for an experienced leader to join our company in the role of Head of Retail This is a key senior position in the Company’s management team. The head of retail will report to and work closely with the CEO and report regularly to the Board of Directors. The initial focus will be on developing the brand and a consumer retail sales and marketing / development plan. Building an effective retail sales and marketing team and effective distribution channels.

Develop and implement high quality retail business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives and mission.

Develop and implement a Brand marketing strategy, including brand hierarchy and promotional plans to build the brands and their equity and determination of the optimum approach for entering various countries, markets, and product using either distributors or sales staff."

To be a “hands on” leader who motivates the team to advance employee engagement developing a high performing managerial team.

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Retail s business unit.

Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business.

Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.

Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.

Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers.

Engage in key or targeted customer activities.

Engage with Senior Management team in broader organization strategic planning including:

  1. key hiring and talent development programs
  2. providing insight and evaluation and decisions involving key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.

Report key results to Corporate Officers.

Report regularly to the Board of Directors.

The Requirements
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will be expected to display the following attributes and qualities:

Strategic planning skills: The Head of Retail must ensure the development and implementation of a clear strategic plan for the retail business unit.
• Financial planning skills: The Head of Retail will need to be responsible for looking at the future of the business and making key investments and investment recommendations for the retail business unit.
• Interpersonal skills: The head of retail must be able to support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees, treating them with respect and encouraging their professional development.
• Leadership skills: The head of retail will be responsible for leading the Retail Business unit. organization.
• Proven experience as a senior retail manager. Ideally in the Dairy Industry with a proven capability of implementing and growing a retail business

• Demonstrable experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision and business plans

• Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles

• Familiarity and experience in supply chains related to agricultural products preferably milk.
