Job Description

Pure Grow Africa (www.puregrowafrica.com) is a major player in the Fruits and Vegetables sector in Uganda. A fast-growing company, it promotes local food produce to institutional clients (hotels, restaurants, catering, supermarkets) and general market. At Pure Grow Africa, we are passioned on changing the way food items are grown, handled, prepared and delivered to the consumer, with a specific focus on working closely with our growers to improve the standards. We focuse carefuly on quality, quantity and consistency.

Key duties and responsabilities :

Pure Grow Africa is looking for its Business Unit Manager, based in Kampala, with potential trips upcountry. You will manage a team of around 10-20 people and will contribute to the success of Kampala unit, in permanent contact with the Direction. You will provide an overall leadership in the management of the business with an emphasis on new business development, growth, diversification, profitability and long term sustainability. You will develop and implement a strong sales strategy targeting all kind of clients in Kampala.

You will be responsible for the global management of the unit :

• Increase the revenue through a new Business Development strategy (potential clients identification, preparation and implementation of comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities)

• Commercial follow-up and client satisfaction tracking

• Improve procurement (directly from farmers + markets) and logistics, develop plans to lower costs, ensure quality and on-time deliveries, carry out regular local market surveys

• Provide regular summary reports to Management

• Management and Accounting, Credit Management

• Administration and HR.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience :

• At Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from reputable university in Business Administration, Management, Agriculture, Marketing-Sales or other related field

• At least 5 years experience in agri-business sales and management

• In-depth understanding of the trends, opportunities, and challenges in the agribusiness sector

• Proven commercial skills, ideas creator

• Excellent leadership and management people

• Organised, precise and meticulous

• Quality and Result oriented

• Team spirit, willing to take on challenges, strong involvement, flexibility

• Full command of office software (Microsoft Office, Mail)
