Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide a pro-active and highly responsive service to a portfolio of corporate clients (category A) in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) to meet their insurance needs and expectations to ensure client retention, business growth and excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Production and profitability.

  • Inspect, appraise and select commercial property/businesses and casualty risks that the insurance company may insure, recommending whether an applicant is an acceptable risk or not. Underwrites policies for the recommended risks.
  • Place covers (New, Renewal and additional), obtains and analyse quotes from insurers, evaluate insurers and submit to the client (in consultation with the unit supervisor)
  • Checking and dispatch of policy documents and endorsements to clients immediately after cover placement and reverting to insurers for adjustment if any.
  • Follow up on the policy documents, endorsements and invoices from insurers after cover placement.
  • Proactively identify cross-sell opportunities within own portfolio of clients to maximise revenue and ensure all clients Insurance needs are met.
  • Follow up on premium collection from clients.
  • Timely, accurate debiting of premium as per procedures manual.
  • Arrange presentations for client on various insurance policies in consultation with the supervisor.          
  • Organize unit information on general business performance for weekly/monthly reports.

Supervision

  • Ensure that information from the Account Service Executives are reviewed before signoff by the supervisor.
  • Provide all technical aspects that are required for higher level reporting by the Supervisor.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to team mates as may be required.
  • Prepare and update register of insurance for the segment clients and oversee/review register preparation by the Account Service Executive before signoff by supervisor and sharing with the client.
  • Advising and guiding the segment clients of any other policies that would be relevant to them by the nature of their businesses.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Prepare minutes of meetings held with clients and insurers and ensure that minutes are reviewed by supervisor and filed for future reference and sharing with the clients.
  • Establish, strengthen and maintain business relationships with clients based on mutual respect to retain customers.
  • Discussing and assessing clients' current and future insurance needs
  • Accompany the Account Service Executives for all client meetings.
  • Respond to client queries and request promptly, arrange for monthly, quarterly and any other review meetings with clients to discuss progress of their portfolio.
  • Attend to incoming and outgoing correspondences and emails from clients in consultation with the supervisor. Makes file notes of all correspondences from both insurers and clients.
  • Discussing and assessing clients' current and future insurance needs
  • Negotiating policy terms and costs with insurance providers
  • Marketing services.

Administration and Records Management

  • Maintain well organized client files and have relevant documents filed in safe custody.
  • Review Company records to determine amount of insurance in force on single risk or group of closely related risk.
  • Prepare for file audits.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous personal and professional development through active participation in development events.

Occasional duties

  • Accompany risk surveyors during the risk assessment exercise where necessary.
  • Attending Management meetings

Requirements

  • Diploma in insurance.
  • A degree from a reputed university.
  • 1 year experience in insurance underwriting.
