Internship – Business Development Analyst

Background

Fulusi Limited is a fintech firm focused on digital payment solutions for specific industries verticals.

Our primary operations are in Uganda, East Africa, with a subsidiary in Ghana, West Africa. We have developed a mobile app and ecosystem for LPG ordering, payment, and delivery. Payments on the app  are made exclusively through mobile money wallets and deliveries are made based on geo-location API’s with online mapping tools. 

The Challenge

Fulusi is now seeking a summer intern who is passionate about online technologies, and business growth to support the rapid scale up of our transaction volume. Online platforms are key to reaching  our customers especially during the coronavirus lock-down. All signs point to a long-term shift in consumer preference for online ordering. The analyst’s activities and deliverables will include: 

• Exploring the market and analyzing industry, competitor, and consumer trends to give us an edge in the business. 

• Producing a priority customer ‘hit-list’ that will be used by the direct sales and digital marketing teams in driving downloads and onboarding more subscribers. 

• Data-mining transaction volume on our payment portal, to pick out customer trends that support our marketing strategy. 

• User testing and review of our mobile apps to improve user experience and conceptualise new features. 

Skills and Qualifications

✓ A bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning. Concentrations in Marketing, Economics or IT are a plus. 

✓ Proficient in word processing, spread sheet and presentation software.

✓ Fluency in English, with an appreciation for diverse cultures and dialects.

✓ An interest in high growth developing markets that are leap-frogging the technology divide.

✓ Ability to work remotely, online and with minimal supervision.

✓ Keen to produce high quality, high impact deliverables.
