Internship – Mobile App Developer

Background

Fulusi Limited is a fintech firm focused on digital payment solutions for specific industries verticals.

Our primary operations are in Uganda, East Africa, with a subsidiary in Ghana, West Africa. We have developed a mobile app and ecosystem for LPG ordering, payment, and delivery. Payments on the app  are made exclusively through mobile money wallets and deliveries are made based on geo-location  API’s with online mapping tools. 

Challenge

Fulusi is now seeking a summer intern who is passionate about online technologies, and business growth to enhance our mobile and web apps. They will also be tasked to review and improve the  functionality of API’s and our cloud-based servers. 

Specific activities and deliverables include:

• Developing a web-based portal to complement the Pear Energy mobile app.

• Supporting the UX and functional design of our mobile apps and online dashboard.

• Conducting tests, debugging and refining the mobile and web apps.

• Maintaining API’s into partner systems to ensure seamless transaction flows between 3rd party

billers and payment systems.

• Providing technical suggestions to improve the functionality of our apps and systems.

Skills and Qualifications

✓ A bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning. Preferably with a

concentration in software or hardware engineering or computer science.

✓ Ability to code for web and mobile apps in related languages like Java, JavaScript and Python.

✓ Passion for developing quality, and value adding tools.

✓ Fluency in English, with an appreciation for diverse cultures and dialects.

✓ An interest in high growth developing markets that are leap-frogging the technology divide.

✓ Ability to work remotely, and online and with minimal supervision.
