Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting:

• timely processing of payments and ensuring that they are coded and posted into the system.
• Examining financial records to check for accuracy and maintain a robust filling system for reference and record keeping purposes.
• Checking and reviewing all payments and monthly Payroll regularly.
• Conducting internal audits to ensure performance and proper use of company resources.
• Implementing and improve internal controls to safeguard company resources through monitoring the control environment and making recommendations regularly.
• Supervise Accounts Assistant, improve her Accounting skills and ensure delivery.
• Prepare monthly Bank reconciliations for all Bank accounts.
• Ensure Cash Sales are banked and Petty cash accounted for before any replenishment from Bank.
• Ensure the financial system is up-to-date.
• Ensure compliance with the Government of Uganda statutory obligations(PAYE, NSSF, LST, WHT, VAT and Annual Income Tax ).
• Ensure UNBS requirements, and other licenses are valid and renewed in good time.
• Responsible for developing & monitoring timely and accurate budgets.
• Lead the preparation and compilation of relevant documentation as may be requested for internal and external audits.
• Support implementation of audit recommendations, working closely with other staff.
• Preparing the daily and weekly sales and expenditure reports, Production reports.
• Preparation of Daily/Weekly and Monthly Inventory Movement report and Balances of Maize Silos and Finished Goods.
• Preparing monthly and annual profit and loss, balance sheet, Creditors and Debtors Aging reports.
• Preparation of budgeting performance and Cash flow statements.
