Job Description

Reports to: Head of Chemistry Department

Profile summary:

Using a range of techniques such as chromatography the Chemical Analyst shall analyse samples, document and . S/he will be required a full understanding of the activities going on and alertness for possible problems and malpractice, deviating test results or necessary improvements contributing to better lab performance. S/he will be responsible for carrying out all activities in the chemistry lab in compliance with national and international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025:2017. 

 

In all activities, s/he will demonstrate high levels of integrity, ethics and impartiality and s/he will abide by the company’s Code of Conduct

Key tasks:

  1. Perform routine and non-routine chemical analysis of products using standard operating procedures.
  2. Write and execute chemical testing procedures.
  3. Maintain up-to-date documents for chemical testing methods and activities.
  4. Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively to conduct testing.
  5. Record, analyze and report test results to Managers.
  6. Maintain inventory of chemicals and supplies in laboratory.
  7. Record all the test data related to chemical additions, purifications and dump cycles.
  8. Will maintain, control and verify equipment in their use following annual calibration plans.
  9. Be able to modify methods of analysis and Ddevelop and modify new methods of analysis whenever need arises.
  10. Doing other duties as may be agreed

 

Qualifications and key competencies

  1. BSc in Science and Technology (Chemistry) or a BSc in Chemical Engineering or any equivalent qualification.
  2. Should know how to work according to ISO 17025: 2017.
  3. Should have experience in Chromatography systems, preferably on HPLC, and have worked in the pharmaceutical industry.
  4. Applying expertise and technology

  7. Following instructions and procedures
  8. Learning and researching
  9. Should be able to work both in a team and independently
  10. Will be passionate about his work
