Job Description
Our client, a company from the diary industry is looking to recruit.
DUTY STATION: Kampala
REPORTING RELATIONS: The Procurement and Logistics Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of Procurement and Logistics Manager, the person will support all procurement activities for the company ensuring all are done ethically, and in compliance with the company's Policies and procedures and Government laws.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaise with key employees to determine their product and service needs to develop a procurement plan and execute it in accordance to the company's procurement policy
Manage the procurement process from solicitation of quotations and proposals for requested goods and services by staff
Evaluate quotations received with technical input from requesting department
Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for organization’s goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
Prepare contracts for goods and services as required
Follow up and ensure timely delivery of procured goods and services
Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
Support finance to facilitate the timely payment of vendor invoices with appropriate supporting documents.
Set re -order levels of stock items and support producing of stock usage reports, coordinate sourcing strategies and development of supply base.
Participate in the continuous improvement and standardization of procurement systems at the company.
Maintain good supplier relationships
Perform other related duties and activities as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and ability:
Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIP), with a Bachelors’ degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Management or any related field from a recognized University. Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics management, OR any related field will be an added advantage. 7 years’ experience in managing procurement and logistics in a reputable organization preferably manufacturing - FMCG manufacturing industry is a must

Ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to use procurement software will be an added advantage.
