Reports to: Head of Nursing
In this position, you are responsible for both clinical and administrative roles. You are required to provide efficient and exceptional care for the patient in the peri-operative environment undergoing anesthesia, surgery and / or procedure where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the core of all our practices.
 You will act as an advisor within the theatre unit.
 Must demonstrate leadership and clinical expertise in the provision of care in the operating department.  Manage the budget and ensure you meet the financial and operational targets of the theatre  Plan and book a theatre programme; by keeping constant contact with surgeons / specialist ensuring a balance between different types of surgeries and optimum utilization of the operating theatre.  Liaise and negotiate with all MDT/ key stake holders to plan daily work schedules  Plan resources effectively and provide strong leadership to develop the theatre
 Write and implement theatre protocols ensuring that they are evidence based.
 Identifies training needs of theatre staff and implement an appropriate training schedule
 Implements, maintain and monitor theatre protocols and standard operating procedures in relation to the hospital quality management system and quality assurance standards
 Ensures systems are in place for maintaining, cleaning and safe use of equipment.
 Ensures a safe and effective environment for practice in an efficiently arranged physical setting.
 Ensures and maintains appropriate clinical and other records.
 Ensures the cleanliness of the recovery unit and theatre suite.
 Maintains an appropriate stock of supplies and ensure best practice in the use.
 Maintains and develops own professional knowledge and expertise.
