Job Description
Kampala Hospital is a privately owned hospital that was established in 2007. Our mandate was and is to bring non-existent services to the countries that were often sought by many people who frequently moved abroad to seek quality medical care.
The hospital wishes to recruit a talented and experienced individual to enhance its performance and achieve its strategic objectives in the listed field.
Job title: Theatre Coordinator / In-Charge

Required languages: English with excellent communications skills (Written, Oral & Presentation)
Required IT skills: MS Office (High Level)
Minimum degree: Degree in Nursing and a Diploma / Certificate in theatre training will be an added advantage.
Salary level: Competitive Remuneration
Reports to: Head of Nursing
In this position, you are responsible for both clinical and administrative roles. You are required to provide efficient and exceptional care for the patient in the peri-operative environment undergoing anesthesia, surgery and / or procedure where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the core of all our practices.
You will act as an advisor within the theatre unit.
Must demonstrate leadership and clinical expertise in the provision of care in the operating department. Manage the budget and ensure you meet the financial and operational targets of the theatre Plan and book a theatre programme; by keeping constant contact with surgeons / specialist ensuring a balance between different types of surgeries and optimum utilization of the operating theatre. Liaise and negotiate with all MDT/ key stake holders to plan daily work schedules Plan resources effectively and provide strong leadership to develop the theatre
Write and implement theatre protocols ensuring that they are evidence based.
Identifies training needs of theatre staff and implement an appropriate training schedule
Implements, maintain and monitor theatre protocols and standard operating procedures in relation to the hospital quality management system and quality assurance standards
Ensures systems are in place for maintaining, cleaning and safe use of equipment.
Ensures a safe and effective environment for practice in an efficiently arranged physical setting.
Ensures and maintains appropriate clinical and other records.
Ensures the cleanliness of the recovery unit and theatre suite.
Maintains an appropriate stock of supplies and ensure best practice in the use.
Maintains and develops own professional knowledge and expertise.
